CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE IS: A covenant made between God, a man and a woman. They are committing to develop their union by seeking to be like Christ in all circumstances and decisions. Their intimacy and union will increase with each other as they grow more like Jesus Christ. Their joy in their relationship will be full and the glory of God will be reflected.
The goal of our Marriage Ministry is to help couples grow closer to God. As each individual in the relationship grows closer to God, they will naturally grow closer together as a couple. Galatians 5:22-25 states, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.” As we learn to die to our flesh and walk in the Spirit we will live out these characteristics in our relationship with our spouse.
Finally, 1st Corinthians 13:4-7 states, “Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
